This dynamic scene, inspired by the artist's own unforgettable encounter with an unstoppable running back, brings the raw energy of the game to life. Produced in the USA using giclée printing methods, this fine art print delivers museum-quality color and detail. Choose from multiple mediums to suit your space, and customize with matte and frame options that complement your décor. A perfect piece for football enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
"Anyone who’s ever played football understands the brutality of it. I still remember a game against Chetek — and no, not back in the leather‑helmet days. They had an incredible running back named Kirk Haugestuen, who later became a good friend. But that night, he wasn’t a friend. He was a force of nature.
All game long he tore up the field, knees high, legs churning, running like a jackhammer on a mission. Four touchdowns and about 300 yards later, I finally got a clean shot at him. In my head I thought, I’ll get him, Coach. I wrapped my arms around him… and immediately got a mouthful of his knees. I bounced off him like a ping‑pong ball.
That night I learned a valuable lesson: no matter how big you are or how much muscle you think you’ve got, a truly great running back is almost impossible to bring down.
Here’s to you, Kirk — you inspired me to paint this piece, 'Got ’Em, Coach.'"
